Summer Fun in the HOT North Carolina Sun

The forecast may look like rain all weekend and a soggy start to Summer Vacation, but we are ready to enjoy our amazing Lawson Pools at The Mill and Five Forks pools.

The schools are closed and our pools open full time now through Sunday, August 25th (Then it’s back to school kids!) and then back to a limited schedule until September 15th. We’ve been open for a few weeks now and we have to say that you all have really enjoyed coming to the pools! As with every year, the pools are crowded for the first few weeks, and this year is no different. Very busy at the pools! Over the coming weeks as families go on vacation and summer camps kick-off, the numbers will start to go down dramatically. Let’s get to this update so you can get on with your swimming! Pool Rules: Yes, we have pool rules and they have been thoroughly updated for 2019. We worked with the Board of Directors and Trident Pool Group to provide straightforward and easily understood by all residents. The 48” Slide Rule continues because this is a manufacturer rule, not ours. But we have tried to ease the pain for parents this year by offering brand new height measurement signs featuring Finn the Sailfish, our swim team mascot, at the Mill House Pool entrance and one at the base of the slide tower. We have updated the Swimwear Policy, Food & Beverage Policy (There is no eating or drinking in the pools) and Guest Policy to be easier to understand for all. Complete Rules & Policies are located at and you can find them right here:

We ask that you review these rules yourselves and with your children, especially young teens who are able to be at the pool by themselves. Trident Pool Group has gone through multiple trainings and instructed their lifeguards for the 2019 pool season and they are to enforce these rules and policies. They will have copies of these rules on hand at both pool amenities for your review as well. The managers at both pools have also been instructed that they have permission to remove swimmers from the pool amenities if they continue to violate the rules. The rules and policies are for everyone’s safety. Please know that we have security cameras and footage will be reviewed by the Board of Directors should issues arise or be reported.

Swim Lessons: The Lawson Amenities & Pools Committee in cooperation with Trident Pool Group are happy to announce that we will be offering swim lessons at the Lawson Pools this summer season. The lessons will be held at both the Mill House Pools and the Five Forks pool based on pool availability, especially during swim team practice times. “Learn To Swim” swim lessons is a BRAND NEW program from the ground up for 2019.

Lawson Sailfish: The Mill Pools will host three home meets for our Lawson Sailfish Swim Team this season. The 2019 Dates are Thursday June 13th (vs. Sardis Forest), Monday June 24th (vs. Raintree) and Thursday June 27th (vs. Bridgemill). The Mill Pools will close at 4:00pm on these dates, but the Five Forks Pool will remain open. Swim practices will switch to mornings 7:30am-9:30am. Also, the swim team will share the Mill House Lap pool for practice 7:30pm-8:30pm reducing open swim to half of the pool for five (5) evening practices in June as well. We kindly ask that residents please give way to the swimmers who have practice during these evenings.

Community Feedback: We will take feedback and maintenance related issues at We will pass on any kudos or deficiencies to the pool management team as well. Trident Pool Group is locally owned as well and you will see the owner on site regularly. We hope you have an amazing pool season!

Thank you, Lawson Amenities Committee
